6.3.2011 - Janne Tuohino in trouble with engine power in FRC Kouvola Rally - Fifth position was a dissapointment

Fourth and final winter round of Finnish Rally Championship series didn't bring required success for Ford Fiesta S2000 driver Janne Tuohino, age of 35. Tuohino and his co-driver Risto Pietiläinen struggled lack of engine power in seven special stages and 86 special stage kilometres of FRC Kouvola Rally. Double Finnish Rally Champion lost rally victory for six times Finnish Rally Champion Juha Salo by 46,8 seconds gap. Tuohino wasn't satisfied for the performance of his rally car engine.

– Before the rally me and PrintSport Racing professional rally team had calculated that the engine could last for approximately 200 special stage kilometres. However during the rally day we noticed that the engine loses oil and that the engine didn't provide us enough horse powers in upper revs. Despite engine problem and run-away horsepowers I'm very happy for my driving, Tuohino tells.

– If not reviewing special stage times my rally day was a very successfull one. Never-ever have my Ford Fiesta Super2000 rally car been in this good setup. Big thanks for it belogs to PrintSport Racing team and its' personel. They've made superb job for my car competitiveness and maintenance. Unfortunately this time very fast-paced special stages of FRC O.K. Auto rally didn't suite up for my car engine, Tuohino continues.

Finnish Rally Championship series goes next for 10 weeks spring break. Tuohino knows how returns to the victory battle of forthcoming rallyes.

– Now during spring break my car technics is complitely being serviced. PrintSport Racing maintenance the car and changes all mechanical parts to new ones. By this service we'll also gain back the horse powers who're currently in holiday, Tuohino tells.

– In Finnish Rally Championship series I'm in bronze position. For silver medal I have 5 points and for gold 20 points to go. Next FRC Vanajanlinna rally has got lots in stake because after that there are only two Finnish Rally Championship serie events to go. If I want to win the title I have to win Juha Salo in all forthcoming three rounds. Believe me when I say that we will do anything to reach the gap, Tuohino continues.
